Internships at MCLT are available throughout the year, although the summer months are most popular. The length of the internship, as well as the start and end dates, will be worked out mutually between MCLT and the applicant. Typically internships last an average of two to three months. We expect the duration will be long enough to benefit both parties.
Most internships at MCLT are not paid, however MCLT will work with students and their advisors on provision of student credit at their institution of higher education. MCLT will make every effort to match each intern with a program that best suits his or her background and or educational training. Most internships have involved habitat restoration at the Waihe`e Refuge, but other areas of service have included historical and legal research, project design and management and GIS mapping.
